ROY PTA STANDING RULES 2009 - 2010
1. The name of this unit shall be Roy PTA, LU #5.3.15.
2. The
unit's Employer Identification number can be found with the President or
Treasurer.
3.
The unit's Incorporation number is 601 826 862, and was established on
October 21, 1997.
4. This unit shall keep at least two copies of each of its legal
documents in two separate locations.
One copy will be in the PTA file cabinet and the other will be in
the President’s book.
5. The membership fees of this unit shall be $12 per member or $20 for
two.
6. The Nominating Committee shall be elected according to the
Washington State PTA Bylaws,
Article V.
7. The Auditing Committee shall be designated by December 15 of each
calendar year and shall consist of
three (3) PTA members.
8. The elected officers of this unit shall be President,
Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer,
with the option of having
co-officers.
9. The Board of Directors shall consist of the Elected Officers and
Standing Committee Chairs.
Board Meetings of this unit shall be designated by the board.
10. Procedure Notebooks shall be kept by all Elected Officers and
Standing Committee Chairs.
These notebooks shall be updated as necessary and are the property of
the PTA.
11. General Membership meetings of this unit shall be held as
designated by the Board. There shall
be at least three (3) meetings during the year.
12. An office/chair shall be declared
vacant if that person misses (3) consecutive meetings unless
excused by the president.

Appreciation/Recognition; Community
Liaison;
Bulletin Board/Publicity;
Hospitality;
Fund Raising;
Legislation;
Labels for Education/ProjectA+/A+America; Newsletter;
Membership;
Reflections;
Pencil Machine;
Spirit Award;
General Concessions;
Student Store;
Staff Representative;
Volunteer Coordinator.
14. One vote allowed per person, even if that person chairs more
than one committee.
15. Golden Acorn
Award(s) may be given each spring.
16.
Voting delegates to the Bethel Area Council PTA shall be the president
and three (3) authorized
delegates, and two (2) alternatives.
17. The vote for this unit for the Regional Director shall be by board
elected.
18. Voting delegates to the annual state PTA Convention shall be
elected.
19. Voting
delegate to the Legislative Assembly shall be the Legislative Chair
unless otherwise
designated by the board.
20. The Standing Rules shall be adopted by a majority vote at the first
General Membership Meeting.
21. The Standing Rules may be amended at any regular General Membership
meeting by a two-thirds
(2/3) vote, or if previous notice is given, by a majority vote.
22. The budget shall be approved annually by a majority vote at the
first General Membership
Meeting of the new year.
23. Parliamentary authority shall be "Robert's Rules of Order Newly
Revised."
